Mrs. Ellen Newman MEd,BSN,RN

Welcome to the Health Office website. Throughout the school year you will find information about health issues, health screenings and links to useful websites.

Reminders From The Health Office:

  • If your child borrows clothing from the health office, please wash and return it as soon as possible.
  • Children may not carry ANY medication, including epi-pens into school,  An adult must bring all medications to the nurse, whether it is a prescription or over the counter.
  • The children go out to recess everyday  unless it is raining, snowing heavily or bitterly cold. Please make sure they are dressed appropriately,

If your child has a fever, they must be "fever free" for 24 hours, WITHOUT the use of Tylenol or Motrin, before they can return to school. Also, if they have been diagnosed with an infection such as Strep Throat, Conjunctivitis or Impetigo; they must be treated with an antibiotic for  at least 24 hours before returning to school.  If your child has a viral stomach illness, please keep them home for an additional 24 hours, after symptoms have subsided.

                                                                      TICKS !!
Spring has sprung and tick season has begun.  Most classrooms are outside every day during recess and some may participate in walks along our nature trail as part of the curriculum. Close monitoring of your child/children for ticks is extremely important and should become a daily routine. Lyme disease is very rare unless a tick has been attached for at least 24 hours and with daily checks and prompt removal, the chances of developing an infection is greatly decreased.  Please feel free to apply bug spray to your child/children before they come to school.
