Nature Trail

An existing path in the woods next to our school was expanded and enhanced in 2006 as an Eagle Scout project by Trevor Stevens, a Walpole High School student.

As part of this project, Trevor raised a total of $500. This was due to the generosity of the Walpole Cooperative Bank, the Sharon Cooperative Bank, and the Elm Street School Parent Advisory Council. Walpole Woodworkers made a much appreciated donation of a wooden sign post.

Trevor coordinated the work of other Scouts to clear the land, create and install signage describing the species of trees, and install signs indicating the beginning and end of the trail.

Students and staff are benefiting from this wonderful resource which enhances and illustrates our curriculum.

“Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you.”
